Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - supplies

Gather your supplies for easy access to prep your work surface. We recommend covering your work area with a plastic tablecloth or protective plastic of some kind to protect from any accidental spills.

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - tape soles of shoes

Leave your shoes dry and tape around the soles to protect from dye. If your shoes have laces, you'll want to remove them as well.

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - fill pan with shaving cream

Fill pan with a generous amount of shaving cream. (Remember to use cream and not gel.)

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - smooth shaving cream

Smooth out the shaving cream with a spatula so the surface is flat.

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - mix dyes

Add water to desired dye bottles (you can use one or multiple colors) and shake to mix.

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - squeeze dye over shaving cream

Squeeze dye randomly over shaving cream.

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - marble dye with skewer

Run a skewer through the shaving cream in vertical and horizontal patterns to "marble" dye as shown.

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - roll shoe over shaving cream

Roll shoe over the marbled dye on top of the shaving cream, completely rotating the shoe to cover it in shaving cream/dye.

Tulip Marble Tie-Dye Shoes Technique - roll shoe over shaving cream

Scrape off excess shaving cream with the spatula and use a paper towel to clean off any additional product. Repeat process for other shoe. Let dry for the dye to completely set, then remove tape.
